MAKE UT SUPPORT HUMAN RIGHTS

As of today the University of Texas at Austin does business with companies that are violating ethical human rights standards. UT has a stated policy of ignoring this responsibility so that any form of divesting funds from the college is rendered impossible by the UTIMCO board. Help make a stand and demand that UT does business with companies that are socially responsible.

• End the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO)’s policy of ignoring the immoral, illegal, and unethical practices of the companies it invests in.
• Create a Socially Responsible Investment Committee to insure that ALL university investments are socially, politically, environmentally responsible and in accordance with international law.

To this end, the Coalition for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions calls for UT’s immediate divestment from companies which have been documented to have broken international law, violated human rights, and/or contributed to environmental disaster:

1. Caterpillar, Motorola, United Technologies, and ALL OTHER companies directly involved with human rights violations in Occupied Palestine. (Palestine Solidarity Committee)
